Lucky Star
It was better known as Long Gun before, but today it's called Lucky Star bar. Just like its neighbor Raw Hide Bar, it's main attraction are nightly shows after 23 hours. Ever heard of "ping-pong balls" or "razor blade shows" or "smoking cats"? Well, if you haven't heard about it, here is the place to find out every night.
Rawhide Show Bar
When entering Soi Cowboy from Asoke Road and public transport like MRT or BTS, Rawhide bar is one of the first venues on the right side. You don't even need to use a map to find this establishment. It's opposite of Dejavu Bangkok coyotee dance pub. Rawhide is known for it's shows at late hours. Their music is mostly hardrock from what I remember, what is a nice change to plastic beats of new coyotee dance pubs.
Shark
Sharks is one of the most busy bar on Cowboy strip. It's rising lateral seating area around mirrored pole dancing area provides for a great and intimate atmosphere suggesting proximity to agogo dancers on stage. Most of the evening, Sharks is packed with people. It's location next to Midnite and Baccara bar make it a very convenient stop during a Bangkok night of barhopping.
The Dollhouse Bangkok
One of the oldest bars on Bangkok's nightlife Mile number one. Dollhouse bar is a concept that has been adapted by many other night venues around the globe, i.e. the Dollhouse bar in Angeles City, Philippines and various stripclubs in North America. Here on Soi Cowboy it's a laid back place where patrons re able to sit back and relax. Most of the action is on ground floor with pole dancing stage and bar. Upstairs only gets busy when downstairs is already crowded.
Dejavu Bar
Showgirls and coyotee dancers, glossy and laid back.
Renovated in summer 2012 Dejavu bar was trsnaformed from a tame and worn out agogo gar into a mix of coyotee dancers and regular dancers. Bypassers will probably notice a loarge amount of doorgirls standing infront of the house. These girls are mostly Bangkok coyotee dancers who step their high heels infront of customers while wearing tights hot pants and tiny tops.

During daytime everything is calm and romantically innocent. Bars are closed and deliveries take place. It's like that until 16h when bargirls from neighbouring dormitories start to wake up. They flock out to the streets for late lunch and first bars open their outdoor areas for daytime drinkers and lost tourists.
Thai Flood 2011
Thailand suffered from a great flood from October to November 2011 and outer areas of Bangkok were deep under water. During the last week of November 2011 there were even speculations about central Bangkok and Sukhumvit to be submerged. Residents and bar owners on Soi Cowboy started to prepare for possible water by building up defense walls with sand bags. However, the flood was averted and Soi Cowboy remained dry for the time being.
Youtube Videos
Every bar on Soi Cowboy has the same big sign on their entrance door: no video and no photo taking allowed. Their staff is advices to ask customers not to use their mobile phones at any time. Why? It's probably better not to ask. People in red-light districts from various countries don't seem to like publicity on one side, but live off of it in another way. However, a lot of private investigators keep filming their visits in Soi Cowboy bars and many clips find their way to Youtube, the World's largest video sharing platform.
Baccara
One of the most popular bars with 2 levels and glass floor in between for bottom watching
Possibly the most expensive showgirl bar on Soi Cowboy. Baccara packs 2 floors of dancers. Lower floor with bikini girls and upper floor with shool-girl dressed Thai ladies, bottomless. Both floors are separated by a large glass floor. Customers seated on the lower flower experience stiff necks. Upper floor girls love to ask for more expensive ladydrinks such as Tequila shots. Barfines are available, but customers are required to pay at least 2 ladydrinks on top of barfine. Regular drinks like beer and water are about twice as expensive than in Tilac bar, but Baccara is packed full with bargirls and customers every night. Very loud music.
Tilac Bar
Outdoors for smokers and indoors for babe watchers: Tilac bar surprises with cheap drinks, good music and pretty Thai dancers
Soi Cowboy's most crowded and popular bar: Tilac. Blue neon signs, a glamour theme with many mirrors and cheap prices for drinks of all kinds make Tilac crowded from Happy Hour to closing time at 2 am in the morning. Even when most Thai bar girls have their barfine paid up, Tilac still jumps with customers who enjoy the fun the coincides with mirrors, bottomless dancers and entertaining musical sound system. Customers can still carry on a conversation while observing dancers on stage.
Sexy Thai Doorgirl
Each bar on the strip has them: sexy Thai doorgirls. They are the ones to get customers into bars. Once a customer vanishes inside a joint on Soi Cowboy he is most likely going to stay there for at least one or two drinks. It's the same in many other Asian RLD's, doorgirls are by far more attractive than actual dancers and employees inside the establishments. That's part of nightlife and it's impossible to complain about it. But: you can always ask a doorgirl to join inside the bar and buy her a drink if you wish to do so. This way, you can enjoy company of the bar's most attractive girl. Have fun!
Midnite Bar
This bar is one of the oldest establishments on Soi Cowboy. It has survived over 20 years of nightlife. Mnay other bars have changed names, but Midnite Bar still is the same. Late at night it hosts erotic shows mixed with regular agogo and tight coyotee dancers. There is a small party area upstairs that can be used by small groups of customers for individual shows and events. Overall a pretty neat place. It was reported, girls may only go on barfine after two ladydrinks from the customer who pays the barfine. You gotta love their way of increasing prices by the backdoor.
Spice Girls
It's one of those bars on Soi Cowboy giving you what you want: Thai teen eye candy. Very sexy 19 and 20 year old coyotee dancers that perform in hotpants and tight tops. You can buy them drinks between their shifts and put some bills inside their bra for a tip if you are in a spending mood. They won't go with you on barfine! Coyotee dancers don't accept barfines. They receive a higher salary than regular dancers. Maybe some charming guy can sweet-talk his way into getting their phone numbers, but that's about as far as it goes.
Where to find Soi Cowboy
Soi Cowboy, Bangkok's red-light district for expats and tourists is located parallel to Sukhumvit Road between Asoke Road and Soi 23. It's very close to a public transport intersection combining BTS Sukhumvit line and MRT at Asok station and Terminal 21. Soi Cowboy hosts around 20 agogo bars with names such as The Dollhouse, Tilac, Soi Cowboy 2 and Baccara. Every tuk-tuk and taxi driver knows Soi Cowboy and getting there from any part of Bangkok is easy. Be aware of taxis standing in front of this area. They will try to overcharge. It's recommended to pick a taxi from flowing traffic. Bars open around 19.00h in the evening and close at 2.30 in the morning. SC is closed on various holidays and on eves before important elections.
